Xiaomi has recently launched the latest Redmi Note 12 series in Europe, but the tech giant had a few surprises up its sleeve. During a regional launch event held in Athens, Greece, Xiaomi unveiled two new models in addition to the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 4G, which we have already covered. It is worth noting that both these devices were leaked in March, generating considerable buzz among tech enthusiasts.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G: Snapdragon 732G and 108MP Camera
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G was launched a couple of days ago in Indonesia, and it has now been released in certain parts of Southern and Eastern Europe. While a wider release is expected later, let’s focus on what we know so far about the latest addition to Xiaomi’s lineup.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G is powered by the Snapdragon 732G chipset, which is a slightly dated version. The phone boasts a 108MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. It also comes with a 120Hz AMOLED screen, a 3.5mm headphone jack, support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, and 4K video recording capabilities.
While we do not have all the information about the phone’s specifications, we do know that it will retail in Europe for €329.
The Redmi Note 12S: MediaTek Helio G96 SoC and 90Hz Screen
The Redmi Note 12S is the other new model unveiled by Xiaomi at the event. It features a 6.43-inch 90Hz screen, most likely an LCD, and a triple rear camera system with a 108MP main shooter. The phone runs on the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC and offers an IR blaster, a fingerprint sensor, IP53 dust and water resistance certification, dual speakers, expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging support.
The Redmi Note 12S will be available in Onyx Black, Ice Blue, and Pearl Green for €289. Interestingly, the FCC recently certified a Redmi Note 12S that has a different camera island design, making it even more confusing for customers to choose the right model.
The Redmi Note 12 series has proven to be a game-changer for Xiaomi, and the addition of Redmi Note 12S and Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G will only strengthen the brand’s position in the European market. With cutting-edge features and affordable prices, Xiaomi’s latest offerings are sure to be a hit with tech enthusiasts and consumers alike.
